Best way to start your work day

Mornings aren’t always the least stressful things in life. They are often full of chaos and lack of energy as most of us prepare for a long hard day of work. We suggest making some changes to your morning routine so you can start the day off on the right foot and set the tone for success.

Rule #1: give yourself plenty of time for a morning routine and prepare your lunch and clothes the day before if possible.

Breathe
You have heard it time and time again. Meditation and deep breathing work! We suggest taking a minute before hopping out of bed, for deep breathing. Long Inhales through the nose and exhale through the mouth. This is immediately going to help cut down any morning anxiety and stress.

Drink water
A glass of water before breakfast is great for your system. Dehydration is often the reason we feel tired or sick.

Stretch
Warm your body up with some simple stretches. This is not only going to help you reduce injuries at work or throughout your day but it is also going to help you wake up and reduce stress.

Have some “me” time
This could mean going for a walk to just enjoy some peace and quiet or it could mean watching TV or reading the newspaper. Whatever it is, choose something you want to do, alone and just take a minute to relax.

Eat a hardy breakfast
This is your fuel! Make sure your eating a full and complete breakfast. You might be eating lunch for another 4-5 hours so take the opportunity to nourish your body and get some energy.
